The chair was easy to put together. The foot rests are easy to adjust and/or remove, depending on the need. It is very sturdy. The arm rests can be lifted to allow for side to side transfer. For someone that needs a commode and shower chair, this combines both and is easy for either the patient or a caregiver to push. The brakes are very tight, making transfers safer but might be a bit difficult for someone with lessened hand strength (which would mean they would need assistance to lock them completely). My medically complex son uses this at least twice daily; I'm so glad we purchased this as it has made life easier for both of us.Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Mariner Rehab Shower Commode Chair - 18" Seat" are high quality item.
