I bought this for my Mother who has a very difficult time walking and hardly ever ventures out of the house.
VERY IMPORTANT : Manual is not very good on assembling. Battery is NOT connected.It doesn't say this anywhere but this is how its shipped. Read below on how to do this.
1). WOW!
2). Delivery was very fast and the company even phoned us 1st to let us know what day they were coming. It was delivered 3 days before Amazon said the delivery dates were going to be.
3). When they unloaded the Scooter it was in two HUGE boxes and the delivery guy had to use a crate lifter to bring it to the front drive way. We didn't know that the scooter was already mostly put together. We thought we would have to put it together.
4). As mentioned above. The Scooter was already put together which was very handy and helped a lot. The only thing we needed to do was to connect the battery (see below) put the seat on (see below) as well as the mirrors and basket.
5). The whole thing is very stable and sturdy. Has huge wheels and great ground clearance. And the foot floor is very wide with lots of room for legs. The seat is fantastic and very comfortable.
6). This thing is great while in motion. It has a speed dial which allows you to adjust speed to your comfort level 1-10. At level 1 it goes very very slow (great for backing up or in store while turning corners) and at level 10 this has wonderful speed (6mph).Almost to fast! The wheels are huge so they allow a smooth ride. The only problem we had was the turning radius. Which is huge. But It does handle well in stores like Target where the isles are wide. The width of the Scooter is less then a full size Target basket (its about 2'wide)and its very easy to do a forward/backward motion to turn corners. I tried it out at the mall and had no problems turning and angling. Outsides no problem though.
This scooter is actually fun to drive and incredibly easy to operate.
7). We have not tried to take this on the bus yet. I don't think this would fit and if it does I believe It would be very difficult to maneuver this into place. Like I said it has a very wide turning radius so may be difficult and this scooter is large. Its built like a tank. Also this is NOT an easy thing to take apart so you cannot just dismantle it and slip it into a car trunk. Its made to be SOLID and use a car lift.
8). This Scooter can go up to 20 miles per charge which is a very long way. My Mother and I went to our local Target and we drove this (I walked :). ).It would normally take me about 15 minutes to walk there. We drove this there and drove it all over to the other outside stores nearby and then to Target and all over Target then we went to lunch. Then back home. Overall we spent 7hrs driving this around and we only used one bar on the battery meter. I think it has 20 or so bars to it. WOW! Amazing batteries/charge/mileage ratio.
9).The fact that it has 4 wheels is such a +. It really gives you a sense of stability and balance. We were thinking of getting a 3 wheeler but so glad we got the 4 wheeler instead.
10). Some comments looking around on the web about this model said that the backup "beeper" is very loud and bothersome but we didn't think so. Don't understand what they were talking about? It is noticeable but its not like if your in the store and you back up people all over will turn and stare. Its just loud enough that anyone who is in back of you will hear it. which is great because my mother is scary when she backs up. She's 70yrs young :) and she scares me on how she drives :).
11) The charging is very good. Its max charging time is about 6hrs. And you need to at least minimum do a full charge once a week to keep battery in good condition.
12) For those with Arthritis (like my mother) be aware that the accelerator/backup (both handle bars have both accelerator/backup levers for lefties/righties)levers can become uncomfortable if used for long periods. the levers are just a little to low under the hand grips so your thumbs are stretched downwards. So going a far distance without pausing every once in a while will cause soreness in your hands. My Mother found this very uncomfortable and had to stop often.
13) It has a very nice mat/rug. Very convenient to just take off and shake out to clean.
14). It would have been so nice if they had put a speed odometer on this instead of just a dial labeled 1-10. The 1-10 numbers don't correspond to anything. The Scooter can go up to 6 mph. So we figure the number 10 is 6 mph but its not very helpful. The accelerator levers do allow you to control the speed though but its very sensitive. If your not careful and you have the dial set to 10 and you push all the way down on the lever you will speed forward fast! My mother while attempting to go backwards in the store accidentally hit the accelerator and crashed into the food cart which luckily was very bulky and on wheels so nothing toppled over but it was a scare.
15). We live on the outskirts of town and this handles pot holes,street cracks,dirt, gravel and grass like its nothing. Like i said this feels like the tank of all scooters.
Over all we can't be any more happier then we've been with this Scooter. This has really been a blessing. SEE MY PICTURES ABOVE :).
VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ : Two BIG problems that had us stumped. The manual is not very good at describing how to put seat and battery together! We didn't know you had to connect the wires for the battery first before you install the seat. So we had to take seat off again. The battery is located under the back fiberglass portion of the scooter. Lift the fiberglass from the back slightly,then on the sides of the scooter towards the front by where your feet would be, the fiberglass "trunk" is attached by strong Velcro. Just pull hard on each side of the "trunk" to pull it away from scooter. Once you've done that the whole back-end will/can pop right off. Be careful though as There is a wire on the underside of this fiberglass "trunk" that connects to the battery,just un-connect it (Be careful not to disconnect the little wires that are attached under the "trunk" but just the main wire that connects the "truck" to the engine)and then the hood can come all the way off. Once this is done you need to connect the battery to the Scooter. there are two large connectors with red and black wires on each. Just line up the wires, red to red, black to black and push the connectors together. Be sure the red wire connect to red wire and black to black. That's it. Then remember to re-connect the wire that attaches to the "trunk". Its very simple once you figure out what it all looks like and what goes to what. Just take your time.
As for the seat. This was the biggest pain trying to figure it out. Here's the simple explanation. Big metal bar with round metal "plate" on top (the seat "sits" on this)goes right into the metal "post" on the Scooter where the seat would go. Set seat down onto this so metal pole under seat falls into the hole of the big metal bar and it sits on the round metal "plate". Then. there are three holes situated around the base of the "seat post" 2 in front and 1 on side. The little silver metal "bar clip" goes into the front top hole (this prevents the seat falling further into seat post. As well as allows you to adjust its height). The Bigger of the two black rounded screws, screw into the bottom front hole and the other "smaller" screw goes into the side hole. These two hold the chair in the "post socket". See pictures for better understanding :) and all the " " are because i have no idea what any of this is called :). Like i said the manual is very limited on descriptions. Its all very simple once you see it and figure it out but we were completely at a loose before then.
Even with the setting up problems once this is all done you'll be so happy with this Scooter. We are totally happy and in love with this Scooter.
Hope this helps out others because we couldn't find any responses or forum comments on this Scooter. We did finally find comments here though which helped us : Spinlife (look it up on google as Amazon won't show the web address).
UPDATE : We have had this for over a month now and still going strong. Two things though that are a problem which we're keeping an eye on. 1st. There is no way this gets a top speed of 6 m/h. We figure maybe 4 or 5m/h. Humans average about 3-4m/h walking speed and the scooter can be about 1 to 2 m/h faster. Its weird though because it seems that the speed is determined on what surface it is driving on. Sidewalks can be fast as well as in stores on smooth surfaces. Harder surfaces are slower and can be much slower. Overall though the speed is fast enough for us. The dial (which controls the speed)goes from 1-10. 1-4 is useless unless you want to go very very slow, perhaps in the store turning but we think its still way to slow.Snail pace.5-10 is a good speed. You just have to find that sweet spot and experiment. 2nd. We have noticed at times that the battery gauge can start to act weird.Every so often we will leave the house with it being down 3 or 4 bars (I think there are 10-15 bars)but then while were out it can suddenly show being full or just down 1 or 2 bars? Very odd. It hasn't effected our travels though yet. We have never used all the power available per/charge on our outing yet. We have gone all over the place. I spent about 8 hours one time driving and shopping and have yet to go below 5 bars! Fantastic mileage.
UPDATE 9-12-11: Still love the scooter BUT, Battery has already failed! Called local repair shop and they say Batteries (both) are shot. The manufacturer/company is taking FOREVER to replace them under my warranty. The repair shop for weeks now has been trying to get them to send out new ones so they can install them but the company is taking forever. NOT HAPPY as I can't use it. Great Scooter but Horrid Company.

Been awhile as I've gotten busy but just wanted to add.This company is BAD! If you read my comments i mention the battery problems i was having, well this company was the worst company I have EVER dealt with. Took them 3 months!! to finally get there act together and agree that yes I did buy and own one of their scooters and I was able to finally have my local repair shop put in new batteries. Whew what an ordeal! I suggest if your going to buy this that you do NOT count on them for anything.I wanted to lower my star ratings just because of this company but I still love the scooter.Just hope nothing goes wrong with it or I'll no doubt have to pay for repairs myself even though I do have the warrenty I don't want to have to deal with this company. The comments below about how bad they are have it right. Got your money,no longer care!
