Polar RS800 Heart Rate Monitor Watch Review

I have used Polar Heart rate monitors for years and, having become interested in tracking heart rate variability choose to purchase the RS800 so that I could do the analysis.

I'd note that I had the same problem as the other reviewer with Watchsavings, who did not include the IR interface (they claim that Amazon mis-listed the product).

While the watch has excellent features and an easy interface, there's a major problem: the infrared transmission system (used to transfer the data into the computer software) crapped out after 3 weeks and completely stopped working.

Looking over the web, this is not an isolated incident. People are reporting that they get data off the watch for a day or two, a week or two, one friend I have who bought one never go a single piece of data off his watch. I contacted a local running store and their employee told me that she had an identical problem, the watch stopped transferring data after 2 weeks. Polar kept telling her that the problem was on her end until she returned it for a refund.

Polar refuses to address this, they ignore it in their forums and will not answer emails.

This is unacceptable, the features of the watch (namely the heart rate variability) are contingent on getting the data transferred to the computer. That Polar refuses to admit or deal with the problem only makes it worse.

Given that other products can readily make a physical USB interface work, there's no reason for Polar to have gone this route and used a technology that is clearly faulty. This is one top of the fact that Polar decided to use a non-standard USB driver for Windows.

I have since replaced the Polar with the SuuntoT6 which went with a physical (clip) USB interface. While their software is not as good as Polar's at least I can get the data off of the watch.

I will NEVER purchase another Polar product.

Sebo 9696AM Canister Vacuum Cleaner Features SClass Filtration Review

When I was a kid (centuries ago), my mom bought a new top-of-the-line Electrolux canister. It lasted for nearly 40 years of almost-daily use, and nothing escaped its mighty suction and ingenious accessories. As an adult buying my own vacuums, I kept expecting the same performance from mainstream machines (read: $300 or less) and being disappointed. I've owned three bare-bones Hoover Mighty-Mites (darn good vacs, actually), the brilliantly marketed and overpriced Oreck upright (OK but not great), and two Hoover Wind Tunnels (big waste of money). I finally broke down and bought the Sebo based on Internet reviews. I'd never heard of the brand and initially set out to purchase a Miele, but owner raves steered me to the Sebo K series. Wow. What a good investment. I think I've found another 40-year contender. This thing is AMAZINGLY quiet (you can talk on the phone while vacuuming). It's wonderfully light and easy to maneuver, and it picks up all the dust, dog hair, lint, hairballs and other detritus my other cleaners left behind. Yes, it's expensive, but so's every other German machine I've ever purchased--and for the most part, they've all been well worth the price. BTW, don't expect to pick up a pack of replacement bags for a few bucks at the grocery store. If and when you purchase this vac, buy bags at the same time so you're prepared when you need them. The filtration seems to be excellent, and the furniture attachment get my upholstered items cleaner than they've been since I bought them.

Sennheiser Set 840 T-Coil Compatible Review

Before I bouyght this product, I called my father's hearing provider and they assured me that he had a T-coil hearing aid. After trying everything to get it to work, I finally stumbled across one mention of selecting the T position on the hearing aids. That was when I knew that the hearing aids did not have T-coils. I hope they are remedying that problem. As to the problem with the instructions, they need to rethink how the drawings and instructions are depicted.

Solax Mobie Scooter (Blue) Review

Solax Mobie Scooter (Red)We bought this for an upcoming trip in which we will be on a cruise ship and traveling overseas. The Mobie does exactly what we need folds and unfolds easily like the old Castro couch commercials even a child could do it. No pieces to remove or put back, and its a light weight 54 pounds so valet and airline personnel complement us on how great it is and easy for them to lift. We have gate checked it on two trips and my wife can ride down the jetway and back out again in the airport.

The Mobie is easy to operate and goes fast enough but not too fast to be unsafe. We received free arm rests which installs easily and I bought a second battery for ours which I would recommend to others as well. It allows you to go without fear of running out of power to return. The scooter has a spot to hold the second battery but you need to change it with the primary to use it.

The folded dimensions make it easy to place in a normal car trunk under a bus in luggage area and to take with us on sightseeing tours.

WE choose the Mobie over the Luggie over perceived stability enhancements in the four wheel Mobie. I have not driven a Lugie, but the Mobie is very stable and my wife loves it. She would like to have a head light ( there is none) a basket, and a horn. WE are told a basket will come soon designed for it, and we plan to get her a horn which will need to be attached and removed when we fold it or open it up.

Surge of Chi Exerciser Review

I have tried Sun Ancon Chi machine and liked this much better.

Variable speed is much appreciated rather than one style fits no one
