MediFast -4 week variety package Review

I had been listening to a local radio personality and following his blog as he spoke of his weight loss using the MediFast System. I want to lose 100 lbs! I know, big goal, but I am determined to do this. And, I have no time limit. So, one step at a time. I just finished my third week on MediFast and have lost 22 lbs already. The food isn't great but it keeps me very full and not hungry at all. The crunch bars (chocolate, caramel, peanut butter, etc.) are very good. As well as the shakes. I didn't care for a few of the items...oatmeal - personally, I just don't like flavored oatmeals. I'd prefer to make my own regular oatmeal. The artificial sweetener leaves a bitter after taste.

Many reviews raved about the Chocolate Chip pancakes. I found it a waste of time to make (2 - 4" pancakes) and not a light texture at all. I thought about mixing all 7 servings of pancakes at once, cooking them, and then storing them in the fridge for later. I added mushrooms and zucchini to the Sloppy Joe mix and made it very good. The dry cereal is also very goo - kind of like Fruit Loops.

You will lose weight using this product. Why? Because you're eating less than 1000 calories a day. Anyone can lose weight by eating less than a 1000 calories a day. So you eat five MediFast products (around 110 cal ea) and one homemade meal a day (300-400 cal). My dinner is where I can get creative. I've made Shrimp and Asparagus Frittata's, Chicken and Zucchini stir fry, an even tuna and Egg Beater patties. I'll snack on a pickle spear (5 cal), Sugar-Free popsicle (30 cal), or an ounce of cheddar cheese (110 cal). The homemade brownie isn't bad for dessert but the pudding wasn't to my liking.

I crave Chinese food and I really miss my carbs. I want pasta, rice and lot's of BREAD! But, for now, it's off limits.

I would recommend this product to everyone who wants to lose weight. Hopefully I can report back when I hit my 100 lbs. goal. I'm glad I bought the variety pack so I can sample a lot of the product. My next order will include more bars and shakes.

OSIM uDivine App Massage Chair Review

Considering the high cost, it did not pay for the lack of features (which need improvements). For example, the seat could have been made wider to accommodate large people; the hand massager only gives compression massage while sitting, but it won’t work if the person is lying down; the legs massager do good work, but do nothing from the knees up to the thighs.
Overall, the massage chair is cool with access to the apps (one of the reasons I chose the chair). The upper body massage is awesome and I could give a rating of four stars out of five. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a review about a product, and about a product category. I'm going to start with the category - backpack vacuums.

Backpack vacuums are worn on the back, with a hose leading to the business end of the unit. Commercial cleaners use them all the time: in office buildings and homes. Why? Because they are more efficient! You can cover more ground in less time with less hassle. They are often more powerful than uprights and canisters because the air flow can be direct without rerouting around corners.

What's the tradeoff? You have to carry it. But, it's a lot easier to wear a 10 lb. backpack than it is to push or pull one on wheels on the floor. Far less wear and tear on the shoulder and arm because you only push or pull the wand. And, on stairs, it's a dream! My wife is 5'2" and 100 lbs, and she can carry it easily. In fact, our kids were carrying more to and from school when they were only 9 or 10.

Now, on to the Perfect PB1006. It's great!
First, the downside: the thing looks commercial. It's a grey plastic cylinder with a big logo nameplate. Nothing sleek or colorful. But, it's light, the shoulder and hip straps are padded and comfortable, and the thing sucks up dirt very quietly. Plugging the 50' cord around the middle of our two story house, I can vacuum every corner without moving the plug. My 17 year old son even said that it was fun!

The unit comes with a full set of attachments: rug, floor, upholstery, crevice, even one to vacuum from side to side across large carpets. It's easy to set up - push together the steel tube (nice double bend design) and attach a tool, push the hose into the unit, plug it in and turn it on. The switch is right on your hip (although I did turn it off by mistake a couple times before I got used to the location).

When you turn it on, you notice that even though the unit is right on your back, it makes no more noise than an upright or a canister. There is no significant vibration. And boy does it suck up dirt. The first time I used it, I noticed immediately that the corners of the room were cleaner, rugs were about the same even without a beater brush, and hard floors were much cleaner.

This is simply the best solution for vacuuming, even if you only do your home and cleaning is not your profession.

Remington MS-5200 Titanium MicroScreen Cord/Cordless Shaver Review

I ordered a reconditioned Remington MS-5200 approximately a year ago. I was in need of a shaver and opted to get this model as a reconditioned because I could not find a new one and the price was ok for a recon in my mind. Well, if I were to consider it again I would be very leary since the Shaver has not worked well since the start. The side trimmer will not stay in place and I have to gorilla tape it down in place which means of course I can't use it if I needed to. The small trim razor in the back also had a problem and I had to transfer the one from my old shaver to this one to get it to work correctly. In any case, even though the cost was much lower than a new unit, I believe I did not get a fair deal in this purchase. I questioned how much it was ever checked before sending it out as "Reconditioned".

Theracycle 200 Motorized Exercise Bike Review

I'm really excited to see the Theracycle here on Amazon (it used to be really hard to find...and way more expensive). After reading about Theracycle about a year ago, I recommended the 200 model to a friend with rheumatoid arthritis. She had a hard time walking around and she was suffering from depression because she was tired all the time and she couldn't do the things she loved, like play tennis or even just go out to dinner. After debating for awhile, she finally decided to make the investment in the bike.

It's something she can do everyday at home, rather than having to go to PT only once a week and then seeing the results fade over the next six days. What a difference it made! She started off doing 10 minutes twice a day, and almost immediately her energy levels went through the roof! Also, because other forms of exercise caused pressure on her joints, she couldn't do them, but with the bike, she found that her joints actually became more lubricated and she had an easier time walking around.

She's in much better spirits now, and she's up to using the bike three times a day for 20 minutes each time. Her only complaint is that the bike takes up space in her small living room, but it's a sacrifice she's willing to make for feeling "human again" as she likes to say
